What happens when you know, like, and trust your wedding photographer? You ask her to come photograph a destination wedding with you years after your own wedding (duh).

Okay, so maybe this isn’t the standard relationship most people have with their wedding photographers (I would know), but I do feel very fortunate to have it with mine! When I booked a wedding in Cabo San Lucas recently (which will have a much longer blog post up soon!), I knew immediately that I wanted Erika to be by my side. As an adventurous photographer herself, I knew I could count on her to come prepared and excited.

Later on, after many rounds of planning and daydreaming for this trip, we decided that it was only fair to bring our husbands along in order to celebrate with us. Given that they already knew each other (Erika’s husband was her second photographer for our wedding… which means those guys had already spent a lot of time together)!

When it came time to get used to the light in a new location (yes this is a real thing that travel photographers do!) — what better way than to trade couple’s photos?
