The process

1. Inquire
Fill out any contact form on the website (including the one below)! The more you can include in your initial inquiry, the less back-and-forth emails you’ll need - and the faster I can put together a custom proposal for you.

2. Chat
I know, I know. You’re probably sick of hearing “let’s schedule a call!” before getting full pricing. Though I can give you a ballpark idea, you won’t get a package that truly fits what you’re looking for unless we can talk more about what you need. (This goes back to the detailed inquiry - if you’re truly short on time, I’m happy to put together a barebones proposal before we meet upon request.)

3. You're ready to book!
One-day Midwest weddings only require a $1000 non-refundable retainer, no matter which customized package you decide on. Coastal weddings and multi-day weddings require a $1750 retainer. The rest of the due dates will be discussed during our call, and listed in the invoice.

4. Planning + Communication
If your package includes an engagement session, we’ll start sorting out the details within about a month or two. If not, you can expect a check-in email around the 6-month mark. Photo planning includes things like photo preference check-ins, chatting about mood boards or design decks your planner may have made, and sorting out family photos together. My goal is to be intimately familiar with how you want your wedding documented!
A small gap in communication after booking is totally normal — but I am always available to email or schedule a video call whenever you’d like to chat.

5. It's time to celebrate!
The wedding weekend is here! Yay!!
If you have a planner and/or videographer, you can expect that I’ll be working closely with them throughout the day. Weddings require teamwork and a positive attitude — and you can expect me to deliver both in healthy doses.
I’ll be right in the middle of the action whenever needed — getting fun candids, celebrating with you and your people, blending in with guests to get those those super fun “I didn’t even see that!” photos — and fading into the background when the situation calls for it.

6. We keep the good vibes going
I will usually try to send sneak peeks within a few days of the wedding, so you have something fun to share with family and friends right away!
The rest of your gallery will be uploaded and sent to you within 6-8 weeks of the event, along with at least a 24-hour warning beforehand. That way, you can schedule a date night to sit down and go through these images as a team.
Such an emotional event deserves more than a quick scroll on your phone, and I’m more than happy to help facilitate a better viewing experience in order to make that a reality for you.
A note on wedding day emotions and family dynamics
It’s not a popular topic, but it is an important one.
To put it simply: I aim for an emotionally-aware approach to photography. Weddings are often packed with heightened feelings, and can include or enhance complex family dynamics.
There will be questions on a form for you to fill out regarding these notes so I can approach documentation in a way that feels good to you and honors the spirit of your wedding events. If you have a full service planner, you can expect these questions to be directed through them.
Unless otherwise directed by you, I have a “no sad tears” approach. Happy crying, or even just “this is a huge day” crying, can be a beautiful and heartwarming inclusion in a gallery that helps to tell the story.
However, someone mourning the loss of a loved one, having a bad time with their date, or experiencing the stress of it all — will not be photographed in their moment of vulnerability.

MIDWEST USA WEDDINGS
Weddings in the Midwest start at 4900 for 6 hours, and average around 6500 for full day coverage.
COASTAL USA WEDDINGS
Weddings on either coast (such as LA, NY, and DC weddings) start at 6900 for all day coverage.
All travel is included.
DESTINATION WEDDINGS
Destination weddings start at 7900 for all day coverage and optional welcome party or day-after coverage.

a full and un-restricted print release, so you can still order anywhere
curated sections of the day so you can find a specific photo whenever you want (without scrolling forever)

I typically use a few film photos to add a fun little highlight gallery of the wedding day. There is no additional charge at this time.

All invoices come with individual reminder emails for every due date, and each one includes a link (you can also auto-pay). You will never have to fish through your inbox for important details, links, or emails. They will come to you.
If you have a full-service planner, I’m more than happy to work directly with them! I’d still love to meet you before the big day (and you’ll be the one to sign the final contract), but going through a planner is a great way to make your life a little easier.

In fact, if I think there’s a wedding gallery especially similar to your event, I’ll send it over right after the inquiry! If I still need more information about the types of images you’re looking for, you can expect to see a full gallery (or several) after our consultation.
